Day 29!
…
I can’t vote does not mean I don’t know what is going on. Finland is going through a very interesting election time this year and the new president will start working already NEXT MONDAY! Exciting! Who’s gonna win? Pekka Haavisto the love of the people, or Sauli Niinistö the sexy man (according to my best Russian classmate)? Whoever’s gonna be the president will get our foreigner’s full support as long as he does not hate other nations and take away our free tuition system :) You know how much we love Finland!
Day 27!

“Life is like an onion: You peel it off one layer at a time. Sometimes you weep” - by Carl Sandburg
Day 22!
Behind the scene!
Day 15
…
“So far so happy so good”
..
This is probably my favorite self-portrait pose because the camera + flash just make me look like an alien :) You might look at the picture and think “Hey that cam is a fun toy to play around” but do you know that I was carrying nearly 2.5kg weight on my neck? Okay let’s break it down
..
Nikon D90 body = 710gr
..
Nikon Sb700 = 459gr
..
and finally please welcome my new baby that makes all the difference Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8D, which weights 1,275kg! Okay now we’re talking! :)
..
This quirky snap is certainly not a good example of the lens’ full capacity. I’ve tried a few shots and the bokeh was just amazing! After all, this new baby is my first ever professional lens, believe it or not! :) And it’s huge! Have a look at this link!
..
Imagine all the fun I would have when I come back to Asia! So exciting! More photos taken by this baby would be updated in next posts :)
Day 14!
….
“Put up your peace sign then slowly put your index finger away”
..
It was Gym Class Heroes’s first ever concert in Finland. They were going on the world tour and Finland was the first stop. My music night started off with nothing special together with a Finnish pop-rock band “15 Minutes Before The Dive”. All old same songs. I got a Corona and it was probably the only thing that felt good first.
..
Gym Class Heroes did not appear until 8.30 p.m and when they did, we were just simply blown! Travie McCoy was sensational and could not stop mentioning how fucking beautiful girls were in Finland :) Lead guitar Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo made people speechless in their “When doves cry”, and me and my friend could not help noticing that the lead base Eric Roberts should have signed up for American Next Top Model. After all, Tavastia was a good crowd tonight and we managed to get the band back on stage one more time for the closing “When doves cry”. One hell of the night for our heroes.

Day 8!
…
Another announcement! I have been able to keep up with the 365 Project for a week now. It was an interesting week, thanks to friends and LUX Helsinki 2012 that I got many amazing shots! There are still 51 weeks to go before the champagne is served :)
…
My Christmas holiday so far = IKEA with Polina + ice cream at -4℃
Day 7!
…
Lantern vs the Moon
Eventually, the lantern took over! =)
Day 6!
…
Jyväskylä Love Story
I just want to say that love is all around us! Definition of love: an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment.
You know you’re in love when you don’t give up!
Day 5!
….
Light painting workshop in Hesperia Park. It was freaking amazing and creative. And it was FREE OF CHARGE! How I just loooooove Helsinki!
..
For you who might not know
Light painting is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source or by moving the camera. For this kind of technique, you would need a flashgun to freeze the subject and a hand-held source of light, i.e lighter, matches, glow sticks, etc…
.
The camera shutter speed should also be set accordingly to the time you do the light painting. I am not sure about Canon and others, but for Nikon users, for shutter speed longer than 30s, there is this feature “BULB” and the camera would take exposure for as long as the shutter is pressed. In this case, a remote transmitter-receiver would be useful :)
.
And a tripod is a MUST! =)
Day 4!
…
Tuli sirkus - Fire circus, a part of LUX HELSINKI 2012
Day 3!
…
“In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion fucks tonight!”
.
=) It’s just nature! I had a very “tunnelmallista” - full of feeling- afternoon at IKEA. Feel wild again.
Day 2!
…..
A beautiful window showcase from Helsinki Sokos house. Like a slow, romantic folk song amidst the pedestrian life.
